Great game of Sardines with Avalanche Beacons! Congrats to those who saved Kate...and congrats to those of us that didn't find Kate but made new friends ;0) Anyhoo, if you joined us tonight, here's a review of all that information that we threw at you, or if you weren't there, then here's what you missed! 1. Next Trip: Hola Osceola! a. October 22-24 is the next rock climbing trip in Osceola, Missouri. I"m pretty sure it's limestone climbing, mostly top rope and some sport climbing b. The cost should be around $35-40 c. So check out your schedule and come to next week's meeting knowing whether or not you can go on this trip! We'll get everyone's names next week and then trip dues will be due the week following that. 2. Thanksgiving trip: Fiesta de Pavo en Rio de Rojo! a. This is just to let you know that the Thanksgiving trip will be going to Red River Gorge, Kentucky! We haven't gotten any of the details figured out yet, but it'll probably be around $65 for like 4 days of climbing. So keep this trip in mind when planning your holidays. We will send out more emails with more details later once it gets closer to Thanksgiving! 3. Next Week's Meeting a. Our old President Eric Redmond will be in town and he'll be teaching us about first aid in the wilderness. We'll be playing a game of it, so bring your competitive nature, and see how well you know what to do when Mother Nature decides she doesn't like you that much. 4. Van Training a. Please, if you're at least 20 years old and don't have a terrible driving record, take the large passenger van training class and test. The test is for free, but we desperately need mroe drivers for trips. The dates of the trainings will be posted on our homepage. 5. Climbing Gyms a. Every Wednesday is Wall-Nut Wednesday! There'll be an email sent out listing a bunch of drivers, so meet a new friend and save the environment and car pool! Don't you just love multitasking! We usually climb from 7-9pm. It's $8 and another $3 for shoe rental b. For those of us that are busy on Wednesdays, we are trying to figure out a time that we can have some climbing time at Lied Rec. I'll let you know when I know more about the specific days and times (probably a Tuesday or Thursday evening if possible) Well, I think that's all folks! Hope everyone had a great weekend, and hopefully see you at Wall-Nut or at next Monday's meeting! -Laura Ostergren
