Subject: Summer job opportunity Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 20:04:02 -0500 From: "Leisz, Joseph M [YOUTH]" To: Dear Friends: A few years ago I had the opportunity to work as a Ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch, an amazing 137,000 acre High Adventure facility run by the Boy Scouts of America in northern New Mexico. Quite simply, the experience changed my life. I am writing to let you know that each summer Philmont hires about 1000 young people (minimum age: 18) to provide leadership for the 22,000 people who will use Philmont every summer. To be a great Philmont staffer, you have to have a positive attitude of service, a willingness to learn and share new skills, the ability to work hard, and an interest in meeting people from across America who share the values of the Boy Scouts of America. (You don't need to have been a Boy Scout or Girl Scout, but you'll need to join when you start work at the camp.) To find out more about the Philmont staff experience, please check out this YouTube video, which was made by members of the seasonal staff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_X5SdjcJCU If you or someone you know might be interested, please email me and I'll make sure you get an application. All the best. Joe Leisz Iowa 4-H Foundation 515-291-4402 jleisz@iastate.edu www.iowa4hfoundation.org
